Although HIV/AIDS is on the rise together, we can put an end to the increasing numbers. Globally HIV/AIDS is growing rapidly by the end of 2015 the number of people infected and diagnosed could beat any of the previous year’s records. Shockingly enough, this statistic even stands true for our home state Kansas. These numbers may be rising because more people want to know their statuses and are becoming aware of the dangers hidden in this deadly virus. On the other hand, people may be living more risky life styles, foolishly thinking they are above catching HIV. Regardless of the reason, the numbers are too high when the quantity of new cases should be actively decreasing. HIV is an acronym and stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus.†¦show more content†¦There are also some early symptoms of HIV; these symptoms often resemble the flu with many of the symptoms being the same. A few examples are fatigue, chills, fever, headache, and swollen lymph nodes. These can occur as early as 2 weeks to 2 months after exposure to the virus and can seem to go away rather quickly, another symptom that does not fit in with the flu like symptoms is a rash covering the body; this is caused by your immune system being attacked. Not saying every time you feel a bit under the weather you should run to the doctor to be tested but if your involved in any risky behavior its best to know and stay aware. After all, a painless test only takes a minute. Many people still think that HIV is a virus for gay men or drug users. While this is factual, HIV is in every economical type in the world. HIV does not halt with gay men and drug users; it is everywhere! HIV is transmitted several different ways. These include sharing needles for drug use, needle sticks, blood transfusions, breast-feeding, and sexual acts. If you are involved in any of these actions, YOU ARE AT RISK! It is hard to tell individuals how to live their lives but if your one of those people who feel like they must live life on the edge then you can still take all methods imaginable to stay safe and HIV free. In addition to using language like Lakoff and Johnson, we can also us e their method of highlighting and hiding to better comprehend the meaning of the metaphor. What can be clearly seen in the metaphor is the idea that it is best to get all your thoughts and ides down on paper so you can then go back and have only minor things that need revising. What can be hidden in this type of revision process is that there are countless possibilities to making tiny changes, resulting in the writing never fully being satisfied. It could go on and on and on because there’s always ways to improve your writing and change the meaning, which is why displeasure can be hidden. The comparison of revising to sculpting relates to how I view my revision process to be. I like to make my rough draft as complete as I can and then go back to fix little things for my revision. This is like the sculpting metaphor because in sculpting you start with something as whole, like me making my rough draft as complete as it can be, then you go back and keep working on it until you have ended up with what you were looking for, in this case a sculpture or a complete paper. Hotel Rwanda is set in Kigali when there was a chaos in 1994 between the two ethnic groups in Rwanda, Hutu and Tutsi. The story itself centers on Paul Rusesabagina (Don Cheadle), a manager of an extravagant Des Mille Collines hotel in Kigali. The problem between the two ethnic groups arises when the Hutu extremists set out a plan to eradicate all the Tutsis in Kigali. The Hutu extremists even propagate the message that all Tutsis are worth nothing and calling them â€Å"cockroaches† through a radio station. The atrocities escalate when some of the Tutsi rebels murdered the President of Rwanda. Since then, the Hutu extremists became more violent toward the Tutsis and began their genocide of the Tutsis. After that, Paul has to do everything that he can to protect his family. Paul himself is a Hutu, however, his wife, Tatiana (Sophie Okonedo) is a Tutsi. Although in the beginning Paul only wanted to protect his wife and his three children, his conscience made him protect his Tutsi friends and neighbors as well.
